In line with Government Guidelines, we are letting you know what to expect when you arrive at The Chestnuts and during your stay.

This information is gathered from Government guidelines, UK Hospitality, Visit Isle of Wight and the B&B Association and is by no means meant as a negative or to spread fear – most points are common sense but we do need to draw your attention to them. We regularly receive updates from these industry bodies who are continually sharing hygiene recommendations and best practice guidelines. We have been certified as being compliant with government guidelines with the “We’re Good to Go” kite mark awarded by Visit England.

Deposits (and charges for ferry crossings, if booked directly) are taken at the time of booking remotely by us. Should you wish to minimise contact you can choose to pay in full at the time of booking or pre-arrival, if so please let us know. We are more than happy to accept payment on arrival using cash or card.

Our high level of cleanliness will continue, with additional and frequent cleaning to ensure all areas are kept as clean as possible to ensure the lowest risk of contamination to you. Hand sanitiser will be available in all public areas and we do ask that you use it as often as possible, when entering the building and the dining room. The wellbeing of our guests will remain our highest priority.

We ask that you do not congregate in the halls or stairs as this could restrict other guests from accessing their rooms or the communal areas.

Attraction leaflets will still be available in the hallway and upstairs – but please only touch what you want to take.

At breakfast, you will be allocated a table and we ask that you do not move any chairs or sit elsewhere. We reserve the right to change our breakfast times and possibly introduce 2 sittings depending on how many guests we have to accommodate. Information on timings will be given when you arrive. Our breakfast buffet has returned but please use the hand sanitiser provided before using it. We will also offer a takeaway breakfast if you would prefer not to eat in the dining room (please do not eat it in your room).

All bedrooms will be given the usual high attention when cleaning along with Covid19 measures set out by the guidelines we will be following. This includes hospitality tray and toiletries which will be sanitised before you arrive. We will be doing minimal servicing of your room, this would include replenishing the hospitality tray, emptying the bin and cleaning the bathroom. We will not be touching your possessions.

Guest rooms are serviced between 11am and 1pm, if your room needs servicing please let us know.

These measures will help to ensure that we spend as minimal time as possible in your room so you can be reassured that minimal cross contamination may occur.
